FAQ’s

How many tournaments will my player be registered for?

A minimum of three tournaments have been built into programming fees per team however the total number of team tournaments will be dependent on the total pool of funds based on your team’s individual sign ups and plan selection. Players choosing the basic plan will only be eligible to participate in two of the guaranteed three. Teams with a higher contribution based on plan totals will be eligible for more tournaments to be entered. Registrants who sign up for the premier and elite packages will be guaranteed a minimum of four to five tournaments, to include two futsal tournaments over the winter based on selected plan sign up. Teams with a shortfall of funds may elect to fundraise to generate more tournament dollars should they wish to enter more events.

Will Matrix be organizing fundraisers to help teams?

Matrix Soccer Academy has a full fundraising guideline which can be share upon request. Several fundraisers are slated to be hosted through Matrix Soccer Academy and proceeds will follow the guidelines set forth. Why is winter added in now?

The fundamentals of what makes a Matrix player successful is the skills mastered over the course of the winter months through its futsal training. In an effort to ensure that families can better manage their monthly budgets, Matrix has built this programming in to ensure that every footballer can plan to participate without the need for additional registrations and expense during the holiday season. By planning and budgeting ahead, your process is streamlined so you have peace of mind knowing your player will receive the best training year-round without unexpected costs for inclusion in the Matrix Academia de Futsal program to include the individualized focus our futsal program offers combined with team sessions to prepare for the futsal league and tournaments.

What if I want to sign up for winter programs later?

Players who choose to register for the basic plan may still register for winter program options a la carte however, these a la carte registrations will be at a higher premium than opting to bundle them in your plan now. Additionally, winter programming is available for players who do not currently compete with Matrix and roster availability may be full for certain events.

Can I still pay in full for a discount?

Players who wish to pay in full may still do so by August 31, 2024 and continue to receive a 5% discount for doing so. Premier and Elite plan selections are eligible for shortened terms of 6 or 10 months but shall not exceed 12 months. Discounts are only available for payments in full.

Why aren’t we using our Matrix kits for futsal?

The Matrix Academia de Futsal is a separate branding and offering under the Matrix Soccer Academy umbrella and as such will be operating accordingly during times in which futsal is the focus. Our Academia de Futsal is open to players outside of Matrix and it is an expectation that Matrix Soccer Academy players participate as this is the heart and soul of our player development.

Why does my player have to be carded?

In order to compete in leagues & tournaments, players must appear on an official team roster where proof of age has been verified. To do so requires a player to be carded through the state governing body. Each player should register for Matrix to be associated with a team roster. Out of state players who reside anywhere outside of Maryland must also register with their state accordingly to be in compliance. Once your out of state player pass is received from your state, please immediately email a copy to Matrix Soccer Academy so your Maryland carding process can be completed.
